Kit components can be used to diagnose and repair problems such as wire breaks, battery drain, low or high outlet voltage, and electric motor performance. The Triplett TTK-BN1 Electrician's Kit comes with instructions for all components and includes batteries for operating the DMM, the non-contact voltage detector, and the work light.
The Triplett 1101-B digital multimeter (DMM) measures AC and DC voltage, DC current, resistance, and temperature, and tests for transistor gain, continuity, and diode functionality. 19 different ranges and functions are provided for measurement accuracy. The meter has a backlit LCD display for readability in low light, and its data hold function freezes a reading on the display. The DMM comes with a K-type thermocouple probe for measuring temperature, and test leads and screw-on alligator clips are included for connecting the meter to a conductor. The auto power-off feature turns off the unit after 30 seconds of non-use to conserve battery life, and a fuse (included) helps prevent damage to the meter from sudden spikes in voltage or current input. It is double-shielded to help protect hands from shock, and it has a built-in flashlight to light poorly lit work areas. It has a clip for carrying the tool in a pocket. The Triplett Feuzr TT-101 LED work light has a low-intensity 3-LED operating mode and a high-intensity 24-LED mode for providing more or less light in the work area. A non-slip body finish helps prevent accidental drops. A built-in hook, a stand, and magnets on three sides allow the light to be hung from a hook, propped on a flat surface, or attached to a metal object. It comes with a carrying case to help protect the light from damage during transport and storage.
